3 free credit scores

(Click the button above to see your credit scores for free)

Your credit scores are very important. Yes, I did say credit scores. You actually have 3 different credit scores from the 3 major credit reporting bureaus – Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. They each have a separate formula for computing your credit score.

They each have different information about your credit so they will each come up with a different credit score. They can vary by as much as 50 points or more. That could be the difference from a good credit score and a low interest credit card rate or auto loan and an average credit score and a high interest credit card rate or auto loan.

Just as it is important to get your free annual credit reports from the government’s program, it is also important to check all 3 credit scores.

But on the major credit score sites like Myfico, you have to pay $14.95 just for one FICO credit score.

A better option that can save you some money is to get a free trial to a credit monitoring service and get all 3 credit scores absolutely free.

Factors contributing to someone's credit score...

You can get a detailed analysis showing exactly what factors are affecting your scores. You can get alerts whenever anything changes to your credit reports. This will keep you aware of any possible identity theft attempts.

And if you decide the credit monitoring service is not for you, you can cancel within 30 days and never be billed anything.

Your credit scores affect so much of your financial life that it is imperative that you monitor them regularly. Your scores from the 3 major credit reporting agencies can determine whether you get a job or not, if you get approved for a home loan, what rates you pay for auto, home, and renters insurance, and all your loan rates.

You are flying in the dark not knowing how good your credit is. Or how bad it is. Or you could be average and need to improve your scores to get a better rate or even qualify. But you won’t know what you need to do without your credit scores. Checking all 3 scores will give you a complete picture of your creditworthiness.

Check out the free offer for all your scores and learn more about the $1,000,000 in Identity Theft insurance in case your identity ever gets stolen. This extra service will ensure your information is safe from thieves and scam artists.

how can I get my 30yr mortgage changed to 40yr?

August 24th, 2011 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

my mom & I went together on a house in 2008 because she didnt like living in my mobile. We have it down to 3,877.62 and loan is at 6%. Since that time my credit has suffered due to 3 major medical bills going to collection and a car repossesion(all during time I was on disability and my insurance was not paying my bills). My mom has now done a total about face deciding she wants to live in senior community and going to walk off and leave me to deal with house. I tried asking Chase if I could assume the loan, they said no based on my credit/income. My income is 47,000 a year, my scores are Experian 644, Equifax 574 and transunion 589 for rounded of 602. This is up from December when it was 589. I have paid off 2 of the 3 medical, and got another car and been on time with payments(14%interest). I also got 2 small credit cards and paying them off after letting it cycle thru one month, but never using to more than 30% of total max, just to build credit. My mom’s name will be coming up at any time on the senior housing waiting list. So I’m looking for ideas, I tried loan modification to lower payment and they said no until she is gone and not paying her half. Cannot refinance to lower % till I get to 620 credit score. I also just found out she signed a paper years ago when she was on California free medical program that any asset when she dies, the state can take to pay them back for 12 years of her free medical. She used over 90grand, so I have to get this place out of her name or everything I’ve paid into it will be lost to the state. Is it possible to refinance to a 40 year when you’ve been on a 30 year so you can lower payments and also remove one person’s name? Or do they only do that stuff for those with good credit?
Chase said that I do not qualify to refi on my own, even though my debt to income ration is very low because of my credit score. I cannot even modify loan because of score. I am confused why the person said it’s median, because even the credit counselour program offered by the city I live in, which charges nothing, said to take the 3 scores, total them, then divide by 3 and that is the score the bank goes by. My mortgage insurance is in place for 10 years, so that wont drop off until another 7 years, and my mom wont be here that long. The other person was confused about the 90 grand. That is how much my mom used from State Insurance. Say by some miracle of God I could make the payment on my own til my credit comes up, then refinance, still when I sold the house someday the state would take grand towards what she owned because her name was on the title. So I must have her name off the title before she dies, which at 80 could be any day. Someone once told me I could have her quick d

Will I get approved for a used car loan? (Canada)?

May 17th, 2011 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

Ok heres my situation….

I have a 629 Transunion score (credit bureau)

Gross Income = 38500/yr

NET Monthly pay (After taxes) = 16 (1158 bi-wkly)

I’m 23 years old, have 3 Active credit accounts.

1 Installment loan, K Balance.. 0/month
2 Visa’s… 3200 Balance, 3500 Limit & 1700 Balance, 00 limit.

I also have a closed car loan which was Paid out as agreed that was worth ,000 when opened.

My 629 Score is rather low, but I’m assuming its because of my relatively high credit card balances and only 5 years under my belt of credit history….

I’m applying for Financing through an Audi Dealer (I believe Volkswagen Finance) for 000… (Havent decided if I want to trade in my free & clear 2000 Honda Prelude black book value of 00.)

its a 2006 Audi A3 2.0T… Obviously this financing would be secured against the vehicle but im worried I wont get approved because of my high visa balances and perhaps my networth.. My savings are all in RSP’s… and that 10,000$ personal loan is dragging down my networth…

Other then that my monthly liabilities are next to none….

0/month personal loan
0/month insurance
/month Cell phone
/month utilities (help parents)
/month VISA’s combined minimum payments

= 5/month tied down right now or 23% of my total income is dedicated to liabilities….

What are my chances of being approved for this vehicle?
Oh and my repayment history is flawless, no late payments on my credit bureau, never any items in collections.

Anyone check their creditkarma score regularly ?

March 16th, 2011 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

Mine hasn’t moved in 3-4 months. Im stuck at 769.

Just curious if its just me ?

Thanks.

PS, My other free score, Quizzle was only 703 which is a wider range than I expected. Both, however, have me in the top 15%.

Both scores supposedly come from transunion so go figure.

(Im not willing to PAY for a credit score or even sign up for those free & cancel deals)
Credit Karma provides a free no-hassle credit score without the usual 30 days free bait followed by extravagant automatic enrollment. Instead, it recuperates its costs with targeted advertising offers based on your credit history.

I don’t oppose automated targeted ads. We are already bombarded with many of them unknowingly and often they provide better matching offers. I checked my Credit Karma’s scores a month ago but had an uneasy reservation when I learned that Credit karma provides its own “proprietary credit score” on scale of 300 to 850 (same scale as FICO Score of Equifax).

All of us who have done a credit score check from all 3 credit bureaus know that the credit scores differ by a few points. Credit scores are slightly different because each provider uses somewhat different algorithms. However, all credit scores are calculated from payment history (~35% weight), credit utilization (i.e. how much balance you have on card, ~30%), length of credit history (~1
In order to find the accuracy of credit scores, I briefly subscribed a trial offer (and canceled same day) and pulled credit scores from all 3 credit bureaus. In comparison to my Credit Karma scores, credit score differ as follows (difference in parenthesis); Transunion (0 points), Experian (+17),and Equifax or FICO (+7). The low difference in Transunion score maybe because Credit karma utilizes Transunion’s service to calculated its scores. As a safe guard I also asked my cousin M to check his scores. He found his Experian score was 12 points lower than Credit Karma’s score.

In conclusion to my little unscientific experiment, Credit Karma’s credit scores are reliable. It gives free tools. There is no need for not signing up for the service since it’s free. I would love to hear about your own Credit Karma’s experiment.

Can requesting an AnnualCreditReport lower my score?

March 14th, 2011 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I know that when credit agencies (equifax, experian, transunion) recieve frequent or multiple requests from 3rd parties for your credit report, they will lower your score based on suspicion. Does requesting the free annual credit report affect this? Will they count this along with the other requests?

I tried emailing the FTC and the credit companies, but theres no way to reach them for general inquiries w/out being a customer.

Do I need to know my credit score?

March 13th, 2011 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I’m 19 years old and I’ve had (and used) a credit card for a year. I’ve paid the entire balance every month I’ve had it before the due date. So I’m guessing I have a good credit score. I’m about to embark on the car buying journey and I’m going to need a loan of around 00. I read the Consumer Reports new car buying guide and it said that it’s good to know your credit score before trying to get a loan. Is this true in my case? Do I need to know the score? If so, which one? TransUnion, Equifax, or Experian? Or all 3? From what I understand, all 3 will give me a free report but the FICO is not free.

Freecreditreport.com vs truecredit.com?

March 11th, 2011 by admin | 4 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

Hi, I am an 19 year old college student and I don’t know much about credit lol. I had a credit card for a year now and i havent missed a payment but my balance is higher than it should be considering my limit. I never went over my limit but again, my balance could be lower. Last month my experian score was 694. Enough about me…I have been a member of freecreditreport.com for just about a month now. I got an offer to get the 3 credit reports from truecredit.com for free for 30 days. I plan on canceling it soon but I have encountered an issue of sorts. I got the 3 scores and accoring to truecredit.com my Experian score is 638. Interestingly enough, I just re-ordered/refreshed my credit report at freecreditreport.com and its showing that I have a score of 704(=D). So can someone tell me why is this so? I really hope my score is 704 and not 638 but I don’t know which score/website is more accurate. Can someone please clear this up for me? Thank you for helping me with my credit ignorance!
Just in case anyone was wondering my exquifax and transunion scores were both 649 according to truecredit.com.
