Understanding Your Credit Score: 888-586-4914

April 19th, 2011 by admin | No Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

www.onecallcreditrepair.com 888-586-4914. Although there are several scoring methods, most lenders use the FICO method from Fair Isaac Corporation. Each of the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) worked with Fair Isaac in the early 1980s to come up with the scoring method. A credit score is determined much like a grade in school. Consider how a teacher calculates grades by taking scores from tests, homework, attendance and anything else they want to use, weighing each one according to importance to come up with a final, single-number score. It’s the same for a credit score. But instead of using the scores from pop quizzes and papers, it uses the information in your credit report. The number ranges from 300 to 850. Although the exact formula for calculating the score is proprietary information and owned by Fair Isaac, here’s an approximate breakdown of how it is determined: * 35 percent of the score is based on your payment history. This makes sense since one of the primary reasons a lender wants to see the score is to find out if (and how promptly) you pay your bills. The score is affected by how many bills have been paid late, how many were sent out for collection and any bankruptcies. When these things happened also comes into play. The more recent, the worse it will be for your overall score. * 30 percent of the score is based on outstanding debt. How much do you owe on car or home loans? How many credit cards do you have that are at their

Credit Card Authorized user question?

April 14th, 2011 by admin | 4 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I am in the beginning stages of building my credit, so far so good. Today I just found out how to get my 1 free credit report a year. I have been wanting to figure this out to see how I am doing. Everything looks good, I have 0 potentially negative items and 3 accounts in good standing, which I have never been late on paying, very low balances and have had for almost 2 years…. EXCEPT I see I have THREE accounts in good standing, I find out that the third one is a authorized user on my moms credit card. This would be just fine with me if my mom and dad weren’t having financial problems right now, but they are. I see that the card hasn’t been charged for over 1 year and always had a low balance prior, but within the last 3 months she has been charging and only paying the minium payment. This worries me because I have tried so very hard to keep a clean record and I have very high goals to buy a house within the next 3-4 years. So then I did some more research and find out that as of 2008 FICO did not include authorized users in the scoring formula… Thank goodness!! BUT my question is… Why is it still on my Credit Report???????

How to check my credit reports credit?

March 6th, 2011 by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I have accessed my annual free credit report, but it doesn’t include my score. I know the websites exist where you can sign up for a free trial for 30 days, but my brother did that and it was an insane hassle for him to get out of that trial. Took 3 days of being on hold. Where can I go to get my credit score with the least amount of hassle? Or possibly a small one time fee if thats the next best alternative?

Credit monitoring service…repairing credit, is this service necessary?

March 5th, 2011 by admin | 4 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I am in the process of repairing my credit. I already have the most up-to-date credit reports from the 3 major bureaus which I got for free from http://www.annualcreditreport.com

While repairing my credit, having debts deleted or paid off, etc…I want to be able to see the changes happening. I can only order my credit reports for free once per year…so cannot check to make sure that collectors are erasing the debts as being requested in negotiations. I was wondering if anyone uses a "realtime" credit monitoring service (preferably that is updated daily, or everytime a change is made to the report), so that I can validate my requests are happening.

I’m not so much concerned about the scoring…but if it’s included, then I suppose that’s a bonus. Any suggestions? Is there a way to request my FREE credit report more than once per year (e.g. tell the CRA’s that I am repairing credit, and need a fresh copy, etc) without having to pay each time?
Micki…you did not read my question at all. I am talking about online monitoring services, not a debt consolidator or debt management service. I am doing the work myself.
Sgt Big Red, thanks for the response. Are you referring to "they" as the CRA’s (Equifax, Experian, TU)? "They" make changes all the time to reports, without sending you an updated report, thus why you have to request it. Otherwise, every time someone inquires into my credit file, or reports me (adversely or positively), I would get a new credit report in the mail. I’m not so sure who you’re referring to…

If you mean the collection agency will send me an updated report, I wouldn’t count on that either…they just want their money to settle the debt, not send me an updated report.

why is it so hard to find my credit report?

February 13th, 2011 by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

Not going to use "free credit report.com" not going to equifax or experian, or the other one I forget because their sites look shady too.

anyway PNC can check my credit score? why the fuck does it cost 1 dollar, and why does FCR.com submit "some" of my personal information to 3rd parties (it says so in their privacy policy) and ever since I signed up with THEM I keep getting frauded, or being hacked and whatnot.

any place that is not even romotely connected to the internet? or doesn’t cost 1$ and a 12$ a month membership to view? Im pissed.

ok i live in Canada.
i ordered the Equifax free credit report (without score) by phone, and the machine completed my request successfully and said it would mail it in 3-5 business days…it’s been like 8 days now and no report in the mail… unfortunately they have no 1-800 number to which i can actually speak to a human… the only number they have is to order a report, and that is run by an automated machine… what to do?

Is it really possible to ‘fix’ your credit report?

January 28th, 2011 by admin | 6 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I have heard people say they have paid people to ‘fix’ their credit report. Is this true and legit? I have negative things on my report due to numerous things, job loss, divorce, stupidity as a college student and a bankruptcy that is scheduled to ‘fall’ off 2011. Some of these things supposedly are to fall off in 2009, but others that I have even disputed because they were accounts opened in my name that I did NOT authorize and I having a hard time getting those removed. What is the best way to help my report, improve my score and get these negative things off (especially the ones I did not do) without having to wait years? I know about the 3 credit companies Experian, Trans-Union and Equifax. Are there others, too? I don’t want to get scammed and I also want to find the best ‘company’ to go through to monitor and have access to my credit reports. Any advice on who and how much it costs? (I have requested a free credit report annually, but I want access for more than just 30 days). Thanks for ANY help in advance!
Is it safe to use a company to repair your credit? Do they cost a lot? What if its a scam? How do I know if its legit?
I also heard someone tell me that if you obtain your reports and dispute all items continuously every 30 days that they will eventually ‘run out of time’ and HAVE to remove the debt off your report, is this true?? Is it legal?? Sounds like a lot of work!! oh btw a LOT of my things on my report I’d say 60% are medical related, stuoid thing is its the same company reporting me to collections and instead of combining all charges they sent the seperately… causing me to have 45 negatives on my report when over half is the same place, can they do that? why couldnt they just combine it and make it all one, then i’d only have maybe 8 negatives on my report. Im sure when I apply for credit they see that and are like ‘no way are we extending credit!’ I think that should be illegal for them to report each doctor visit or hospital stay seperately when they all came from the same place.
So if something is removed, it cant magically come back on your report at all can it? Like say I had a collection removed, can it backfire on me and reappear if that company sends it to collections again?
