3 free credit scores

(Click the button above to see your credit scores for free)

Your credit scores are very important. Yes, I did say credit scores. You actually have 3 different credit scores from the 3 major credit reporting bureaus – Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. They each have a separate formula for computing your credit score.

They each have different information about your credit so they will each come up with a different credit score. They can vary by as much as 50 points or more. That could be the difference from a good credit score and a low interest credit card rate or auto loan and an average credit score and a high interest credit card rate or auto loan.

Just as it is important to get your free annual credit reports from the government’s program, it is also important to check all 3 credit scores.

But on the major credit score sites like Myfico, you have to pay $14.95 just for one FICO credit score.

A better option that can save you some money is to get a free trial to a credit monitoring service and get all 3 credit scores absolutely free.

Factors contributing to someone's credit score...

You can get a detailed analysis showing exactly what factors are affecting your scores. You can get alerts whenever anything changes to your credit reports. This will keep you aware of any possible identity theft attempts.

And if you decide the credit monitoring service is not for you, you can cancel within 30 days and never be billed anything.

Your credit scores affect so much of your financial life that it is imperative that you monitor them regularly. Your scores from the 3 major credit reporting agencies can determine whether you get a job or not, if you get approved for a home loan, what rates you pay for auto, home, and renters insurance, and all your loan rates.

You are flying in the dark not knowing how good your credit is. Or how bad it is. Or you could be average and need to improve your scores to get a better rate or even qualify. But you won’t know what you need to do without your credit scores. Checking all 3 scores will give you a complete picture of your creditworthiness.

Check out the free offer for all your scores and learn more about the $1,000,000 in Identity Theft insurance in case your identity ever gets stolen. This extra service will ensure your information is safe from thieves and scam artists.

What is this scam with registering for services and sending the confirmation number?

September 10th, 2011 by admin | 5 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I get these e-mails from time to time stating "You are one of three people we are considering hiring" and then they direct me to go onto a credit report website, register and send them the confirmation number. "We need to check your credit report". I know it’s NOT legitimate, but do these people get money for getting people to sign-up?

The other one was for an online auction website, which I knew was total BS.

The E-mail:

I would like to take this moment to thank you for your response to our Craigslist job posting, as well as inform you that, after reading through your resume, we are interested in discussing this job opportunity with you in person. What is the best first car to get for myself?

August 29th, 2011 by admin | 6 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I’m a 17 year old girl. I make about 360 a month once school starts. My mom has an 800 credit score so she’ll co-sign the loan until I earn my own credit. I heard they don’t give loan under 5,000 unless it’s a personal loan. I want a car that’s cute, maybe even sporty looking but probably not two because the insurance would be high. I’ve been accident free for a year. I turn 18 in 3 months. I want a car that had good mileage like 24-28 city and 32-36 highway (I drive on back roads a lot b.c of where I live). I want the car to last me through college without any problems so I’ll probably do a 4 or 5 year loan because I’m not going to drive it at college; only when I come home most likely. I just want it for my senior year so I don’t have to take the bus haha. Any suggestions?

how can I get my 30yr mortgage changed to 40yr?

August 24th, 2011 by admin | 3 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

my mom & I went together on a house in 2008 because she didnt like living in my mobile. We have it down to 3,877.62 and loan is at 6%. Since that time my credit has suffered due to 3 major medical bills going to collection and a car repossesion(all during time I was on disability and my insurance was not paying my bills). My mom has now done a total about face deciding she wants to live in senior community and going to walk off and leave me to deal with house. I tried asking Chase if I could assume the loan, they said no based on my credit/income. My income is 47,000 a year, my scores are Experian 644, Equifax 574 and transunion 589 for rounded of 602. This is up from December when it was 589. I have paid off 2 of the 3 medical, and got another car and been on time with payments(14%interest). I also got 2 small credit cards and paying them off after letting it cycle thru one month, but never using to more than 30% of total max, just to build credit. My mom’s name will be coming up at any time on the senior housing waiting list. So I’m looking for ideas, I tried loan modification to lower payment and they said no until she is gone and not paying her half. Cannot refinance to lower % till I get to 620 credit score. I also just found out she signed a paper years ago when she was on California free medical program that any asset when she dies, the state can take to pay them back for 12 years of her free medical. She used over 90grand, so I have to get this place out of her name or everything I’ve paid into it will be lost to the state. Is it possible to refinance to a 40 year when you’ve been on a 30 year so you can lower payments and also remove one person’s name? Or do they only do that stuff for those with good credit?
Chase said that I do not qualify to refi on my own, even though my debt to income ration is very low because of my credit score. I cannot even modify loan because of score. I am confused why the person said it’s median, because even the credit counselour program offered by the city I live in, which charges nothing, said to take the 3 scores, total them, then divide by 3 and that is the score the bank goes by. My mortgage insurance is in place for 10 years, so that wont drop off until another 7 years, and my mom wont be here that long. The other person was confused about the 90 grand. That is how much my mom used from State Insurance. Say by some miracle of God I could make the payment on my own til my credit comes up, then refinance, still when I sold the house someday the state would take grand towards what she owned because her name was on the title. So I must have her name off the title before she dies, which at 80 could be any day. Someone once told me I could have her quick d

about built my credit please help me with some advice?

August 23rd, 2011 by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I never have a credit card due, the only accounts negative that I had in a credit are medical bills (hospital bills) and some bill from the ambulance and 1 phone bill that i was unable to pay because i lost my job at that time (now I have a good job). However, is hard for me to repair my credit because i really dont have any clue about how i can do. Some friend of mine told me to contact with a 3 credit company and ask them for my free credit report. I did. Then, I called to differents agency and because I unable to pay a settlement in full I make arrangement to make payment plan with them. I want to know if is something else can I do to help me to built my credit?. I had a loan with my bank (usually 2 loan one in the past and one now that i pay very well so I guess that help me), however, because my credit score is only 530 nobody want to provide me with a credit card even a secure credit card from my bank so i really dont have any idea how i can improve my credit. I am hurry to buy a house but I need better credit to obtain a mortgage. Please give me some advice. I appreciate very much.

What's the best way to finance a condo and improvements simultaneously?

August 5th, 2011 by admin | 4 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

Hey everyone,

I’m looking into purchasing a condo, and it’s asking price is ,000. I put in an offer at that price, and I’m hoping that it will get accepted. The only issue is that it’s air conditioning/heating unit isn’t functional, so that will need to be replaced the moment it’s purchased, which should run about ,000 or so.

I’m a first time home buyer, and by the time the deal would close if accepted, I’ll have about ,800 in savings, while I’m asking the seller for 3% toward closing costs, and I’ll likely have to pick up about 0 of the closing costs. I also have a 725 credit score and a debt to income ratio of under 5% before this purchase, being only about 20-25% with it, as I’m trying to keep minimal debt.

The property is not FHA approved, because the condo complex doesn’t fit its criteria, and everyone who has tried a spot approval on other units have been denied. I know that an FHA 203K renovation loan would have been good, but it’s seeming like FHA won’t be an option at all.

I’m being told that right now that a conventional loan is my only option, and that I would have to probably finance the unit through an air conditioning company. I’d prefer not to do that, because of high interest rates and high monthly payments due to short repayment plans.

I know that home renovation conventional loans exist, but I hear that they have specific criteria about the Loan to Value ratios, etc. and that going 90% LTV due to a 10% down payment doesn’t leave room for the improvements. With that being in mind, I’m thinking that it eliminates the ideas of a home equity loan or line of credit.

Does anyone have any ideas for options that I may have? I would prefer not to do a personal loan with a high monthly payment and gouging interest rates of 16% or more. If there isn’t a specific type of mortgage that can do it, then any ideas with no payments no interest for 6+ months would be nice too, as I would have freed up money for settling in at first, and maybe even could just use my tax credit to pay it off entirely.

If you do have ideas for a type of mortgage that may help me out, please name a specific bank/credit union/broker who offers it. I’m in Arizona, 85203 Zip Code is where the property is.

Thanks!
In response to Debra’s comment, it’s bank-owned and as-is, and honestly, similar condos in the market with a working A/C and everything else in great condition, updated appliances, cabinets, fixtures, flooring, and more like this one is, go for about ,000 or higher. I’m set on this property and know I’ll get no assistance from the bank. Any suggestions to make this scenario possible?

Oh, and Amanda, 10% will have to go down on the property, or ,700, and about 0 toward closing costs will still be due from me. That’s ,200 of that gone, with 0 left over, in the scenario that I go conventional.
Oh, and the seller can only pay up to 3% of closing costs (both bank property who’s selling it, and a requirement on a conventional loan, at least in AZ if not everywhere).

Out of high school? No options?

July 30th, 2011 by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

I graduated high school a week ago.
On track to attend UCLA.
I already have my AA in poli sci because i took classes at community during high school and classes are free for hs students.

HOWEVER

I have no substantial amount of money (about 0 for graduating)
I have no car.
I have no job.
I have no inside connections to get a job.

I applied to 37 businesses (i’ve been keeping track) starting from about 3 weeks ago. I regularly phone-call and visit the human resources/hiring office located in each store. I’ve received no calls or offers. I’ve applied to Mcdonalds, Dollar Tree, janitorial companies,…etc.
( I even applied with the UFW’s Take our jobs campaign to get a farm labour job picking crops, but yet to hear back from them)

My family is too poor to pay for my college, and too rich to qualify for grants for college. I am a good student however, not outstanding enough to qualify for academic scholarships. Called the financial aid office but they won’t adjust me for diddly squat and i only got 00 of federal loans offered towards ,000 tuition and fees. FAFSA says i can only take out 00 worth of student loans and my parents have a horrible credit score and cannot takeout loans either. Parents cannot handle paying ,000 for my college like the FAFSA said they have to.

What to do……

I don’t have a lot of hope. If i couldn’t find a job there’d be no way to pay for college. (Obviously not pay for it all, or atleast a good portion. but set a trend for me and get me atleast money to eat)

New Choices:
Join the military? Immigrate to a more prosperous country? Sell bone marrow? Spend all the rest of my money of lottery tickets? illicit activities?

Time is ticking and i’m losing hope, when you apply to Mcdonald’s for a part-time position and go there once every two days to check on your application and in three weeks time you still haven’t gotten anything back it doesn’t help your self esteem.

Help!Trying to plan the next four years of my life/career?

July 29th, 2011 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in 3 Free Credit Scores

Here are my GOOD stats:

* 26 yrs old attractive female, divorced (military marriage) no kids, single
* 3 yrs Navy Reserves, 1 year active duty as a mil police. Want to become an officer.
* 6 months I will have an Associates in GS.
* 9,500 tax free money in savings (military)
*VA benefits for life
* 20 months new GIB to use

BAD stats:

* no kids (desirably want to have a family in next couple years)
*bankruptcy/foreclosure (started young being an adult, learned from my mistakes)
*720 credit score is now a 535
*unfinished degree. want to get my bachelors in next 2 years
*aging parent

I’m currently deployed overseas. my question is should take time from school to come back overseas as a contractor and save 0,000 to set myself up, or should I go home use the gibe bill and go to school (don’t work) until I get my bachelors and go from there? If I do it this way, the latter I may meet someone
The most important things to me are family, then money, then travel, a decent car. that just my nature. I want to spend time with my aging parent, maybe have some kids but I can’t really do that and be a contractor. At the same time I know I have to live life for me.

Someday I want to get my masters, say I worked hard, influenced lots of people and made a difference. I’ll spare you the noble speech. I just wanna be successful.
